IS "THE NUN" BASED ON A TRUE STORY? MEET THE "REAL" DEMON VALAK FROM MYTHOLOGY

Valak" is associated with demons in some demonologies and grimoires, such as the "Lesser Key of Solomon". In these texts, Valak is often described as an angelic winged demon riding a two-headed dragon, sometimes referred to as the President of Hell or the Great President.. It is important to note, that these descriptions are part of occult and demonic knowledge and have no basis in reality.

These demonological allusions did in fact serve as inspiration for the character Valak in "The Conjuring" film series and "The Nun" spin-off. Valak, a terrifying fictional character who assumes the form of a menacing nun, was invented by the filmmakers using artistic license.

Therefore, despite the fact that the occult literature about the demon Valak dates back centuries, the way Valak is portrayed in "The Conjuring" movies as a malicious nun is pure fiction.

We don't want to scare you, but Valak is based on established mythology - only the demon never appears as a nun.

Instead, Valak (also known by other names including Valac, Volac, Valax, etc.) is a child with angel's wings who rides a two-headed dragon who is also the great president of the hell and provides “real answers to hidden treasures”. and commands legions of demons.

Somehow this makes the creepy nun less scary.

In the Conjuring films, Valak is an angel rejected by God and sent to Hell. Valak was summoned to the Cârța Monastery by a duke, only to be captured by members of the Vatican, who killed the duke then sealed the breach with the blood of Jesus Christ.

When the monastery was bombed during World War II, the gorge was reopened and Valak was freed, despite the efforts of the monastery's nuns who all committed suicide to prevent Valak from taking possession of it.

Valak took the form of a nun as an insult to God and to mock the faith of the nuns who tried to stop the demon.

History

In ancient times, Valak was once an angel in Heaven and served God. However, a fellow angel named Lucifer rebelled against God and gathered other angels to become his followers, including Valak. After the rebellion, Lucifer and the other angels, including Valak, were cast out of Heaven and condemned to Hell for eternity. Lucifer became Satan, while the other angels became demons. In the process, Valak not only lost his status as an angel but also his special powers that he had when he was an angel.

 

The Nun:

It is revealed that a Duke built Carta Monastery centuries ago in a remote area of Romania.

 A member of the Vatican ultimately stopped the Duke's attempt to conjure a strong demon because he was so obsessed with dark magic. The blood of Christ was used to seal the demon. Many years later, during World War II, the heavily bombed Carta Monastery unintentionally allowed the potent demon to escape its captivity. A nun was taken possession of by the demon, who was now free to commit heinous crimes and mock other people's faith. “The series tells the story of a Catholic priest, Father Burke and a young nun, Sister Irene  who are sent by the Vatican to investigate the mysterious suicide of Sister Chalsey. their mission was to solve the mystery of monastery because of its dark rumors and trouble. When they arrive at the remote monastery, they encounter an evil force in the form of Valak, a demonic being who takes the form of an evil nun. As the trio goes  into the catacombs, they found out about dark secret of monastery. They discovered that a portal to hell is hidden beneath the monastery, which is the source of the demonic activity. Valak, in his terrifying form, relentlessly pursues them. In a dramatic showdown, father Burke, sister Irene and Frankie pit their faith and wisdom against Valak. Eventually, they successfully fought the evil by using Christ's blood, a holy relic with the power to cast out demons.

The conjuring 2:

Valak in "The Conjuring 2" takes on the form of a terrifying demonic nun. The character is depicted with a ghostly, pallid face, piercing yellow eyes, and a disheveled and sinister nun's habit.  Wallach is described as an evil force who tormented the Hodgson family in Enfield, London, in the 1970s.  valak main target is young girl named janet who becomes target of his supernatural attack
